If you've never been to a chiropractor or holistic health care provider before you may wonder what to expect. In many ways we are similar to traditional medical clinics, with; Medical Histories and Patient information paperwork to fill out, Examinations and X-ray's, and diagnosis of conditions; but from there we diverge. Our treatments are all natural and our focus is on wellness and prevention, not just covering up symptoms.
The following is a brief explaination of our typical new patient admissions procedures.
After filling out a Medical History and Patient Information form and you will meet with Dr. Larson to go over the reasons for this visit and any questions you may have. If Dr. Larson determines that our clinic and treatments will help, he may schedule an exam and X-rays or a bio-feedback scan, depending on the type of care your condition requires.
You should expect it to take approximately 15 minutes to complete paperwork and 15 minutes for the consultation with Dr. Larson.
You should plan on your Examination and X-ray visit to take an hour. After your visit, Dr. Larson will analyse your X-ray and go over the results of your examination to determine your care plan. He may also request a bio-feedback scan, or use results from your scan to assist in determining the proper care plan for you.
The report of findings typically takes place on the second day, after Dr. Larson has had an opportunity to go over test results and X-rays. In this appointment Dr. Larson will explain what the cause of your symptoms is, how he can help, and what your particular treatment plan would consist of.
The type of bio-feedback used in our office is a computerized health analysis that gives us very specific information about your body and what is causing your symptoms. This scan provides information on physical, emotional and chemical stresses that you are experiencing and offers recommendations for treatment and balancing. The first scan typically takes one hour.
Bio-feedback scans must be scheduled in advance and are not usually performed on the first visit unless the patient requests it and extra time is allotted for this appointment. At lease 2 hours would be required, and the patient should arrive 1/2 hour early to fill out paperwork.
